Winterberg Agricultural High School
Situated in the picturesque Kat River Valley on a farm, 1400ha in size, you can find us just outside the quaint town of Fort Beaufort.
Winterberg Agricultural High School was founded in 1972 as an all-boys agricultural school. In 1992, we merged with Fort Beaufort High school and became a co-educational school offering both agricultural and traditional education. Since then, we have only grown in stature and have become one of the most competitive schools in the Eastern Cape.

Student Life
At Winterberg, we try our very best to help students maintain a good work-life balance by giving everyone a chance to express their unique and wonderful abilities both in and outside of the class. Whether it is excelling in the classroom, working hard on the farm, rehearsing on the stage, or getting swept up in the school spirit. We have something for everyone.

Our Team
Our facility is led by the current headmaster Mr Karel Schwab. He has been with the school for many years and continues to give his all every day.
He gets involved in all aspects of the school from helping around the farm to accompanying the sports teams wherever they might play.
It's all in a day's work as the headmaster

The students are led by our exceptional facility of teachers who strive to do their very best every day. Our teachers give more of themselves than we could ever hope for, their dedication is not limited to the classroom. They also run across the sports field, act on the stage, and even get their hands dirty during practicals on the farm.

Without our teachers, Winterberg wouldn't be the same.
